SHORT DESCRIPTION

An important part of Lviv's identity is its factory buildings from different periods of construction. For our office, it is very important to tolerate industrial architecture with its peculiarities. We present to your attention materials on the reconstruction project of the Lvivprylad building, which began construction during the Soviet era and was completed only in 1994, but was never used for its intended purpose. Despite its cold industrial character, the existing building has become part of Lviv residents' association with this part of the city.

Adapting industrial architecture to new functions requires a certain amount of intervention to reformat a closed production environment into a welcoming space. This space could be humanized by integrating the building into the pedestrian part of Sakharov Street, creating a connection between the building, Gorikhovy Hai Park, and the neighboring Lviv Tech City complex.

The first to third floors of the building are proposed to be used for public purposes (offices, company representative offices, exhibition halls, catering establishments, etc.), and the fourth to eighth floors for residential units.

The architecture of the upper floors is a way of paying tribute to the lost factory architecture of our city. For us, this project is an attempt to reimagine what modern, high-quality housing built on the basis of a former industrial building should look like.
